CT NEWINGTON — Newington's Town Plan and Zoning Commission approved an interior lot special permit at 227 Maple Hill Avenue, unanimously supporting owner Joseph Brescia's plan to build a single-family home on the 4.27-acre split-zoned parcel. Applicant's representative Alan Bongiovanni, a licensed land surveyor, demonstrated the lot meets all R-12 residential setback and frontage requirements and will access via Locust Drive with utilities from the existing Metropolitan District sewer and water lines. The Commission imposed two conditions: coordination with the Town Engineer for a Locust Drive address and establishment of a recorded snow storage easement before certificate of occupancy.

A companion petition for a monument sign at Culver Street Apartments was tabled for further review pending applicant response to neighborhood concerns about lighting design.
