CT NEWINGTON — Newington's zoning board unanimously approved a 41-unit affordable-housing rental development at 103 Louis Street. Premier Real Estate Services II, LLC's project, evaluated under Connecticut's affordable-housing statute, passed with eight conditions requiring traffic safety improvements, drainage system revisions, and connections to the Metropolitan District Commission's water and sewer system. The applicant revised plans after a January hearing, adding emergency access gates, crosswalks, and accessible ramps; fire-hydrant flow testing on February 12 confirmed adequate water pressure for fire protection.

All fire-safety issues were resolved to the absent Fire Chief's satisfaction, Town Planner Paul Dickson reported.
