CT NEWINGTON — Newington Open Space Committee elected officers and revised its meeting schedule. Chair Gia Pascarelli, Vice Chair Bernadette R. Conway, and Secretary Juelin Chen were unanimously elected at the January 8 organizational meeting.

The committee also unanimously approved a shift from its existing schedule to quarterly first-Wednesday meetings, setting dates for April 1, July 1, October 7, and January 6, 2027, to accommodate scheduling conflicts for members also serving on the Economic Development Committee. Looking ahead, the committee plans to identify open space parcels for grant funding and examine potential properties including the old Hartford Healthcare parcel and Cedar Mountain parcels.
