CT NEWINGTON — Newington approved a parking lot expansion for a Berlin Turnpike restaurant while advancing two mixed-use proposals. The commission voted 7-0 to approve Petition TPZ-26-5, adding 102 parking spaces to Casadoro's existing 109-space lot through a southward extension, addressing overflow parking that had extended to adjacent properties since the restaurant's 2024 opening. The project includes a retaining wall and advanced bioretention stormwater management approved by the town's Conservation Commission.

Separately, the commission received pre-application presentations for a 244-unit mixed-use development with theater at 1170 Main Street and a 34-foot argon storage tank at GKM Aerospace's facility at 179 Louis Street, with both applicants invited to proceed with formal applications.
