CT NEWINGTON — The Library Renovations/Additions Project Building Committee learned that Town Council Leadership has delayed the library project to a fall referendum due to cost concerns and local economic strain. Committee members Kelly deHaas, LeeAnn Manke, Peter Manke, and Kristopher Riley, along with Assistant Town Manager Lauren Rhines, voted unanimously to approve prior meeting minutes. Mr.
Riley reported Council Leadership remains supportive but wants further cost review before the full Council considers the proposal. The committee will continue public outreach and research alternative funding sources, with the Library Board subcommittees and LARC committee maintaining their regular schedules.
