CT NEWINGTON — Newington's Library Renovations/Addition Project Building Committee unanimously elected Kristopher Riley as Chair and LeeAnn Manke as Vice Chair on February 26, while tabling appointment of a Committee Secretary. Library Director Lisa Masten reported the Library Board is producing videos of current services and renovation possibilities, with architect work proceeding as funds remain available. The committee agreed an April update to Town Council is appropriate; members discussed social media and time-lapse video to communicate daily library usage.
Diane Stamm, a Library Board member, noted current constraints in parking and space have prevented the library from acquiring equipment and pursuing grants, prompting Council member Kelly deHaas to request a summary of declined grant opportunities.
