Board of Fire Commissioners · Meeting of April 9, 2026

CT NEWINGTON — The Newington Board of Fire Commissioners unanimously appointed Eric Chase and Brian Petrucelli as per diem fire inspectors in the Fire Marshal's Office. Chairman Brian Whalen moved the appointment; Fire Marshal DJ Zordan reported the office had received seven applicants and interviewed six before recommending the two finalists following job shadowing. Per diem positions carry an hourly wage with no benefits and draw from a dedicated budget pool.

The board also unanimously approved the prior month's minutes, accepted March communications noting firefighter training advancement, and confirmed ledger status remained on track with two and a half months left in the fiscal year.
