CT NEWINGTON — Newington Town Council moved forward with Fire Station No. 4 replacement planning after receiving a presentation of the project. The proposed facility would cost an estimated $7.693 million to construct at the current Fifth Street location, replacing the 60-year-old station with a new 5,515-square-foot building featuring two apparatus bays. Mayor Jon Trister and Councilors Matthew Plourd and Kim Radda expressed support for advancing toward a referendum vote scheduled for November 3, 2026.

The Council also approved $3,063.49 in property tax refunds and authorized correction of a 2024 clerical error in which a tax payment for 54 Briarwood Road was misapplied to 52 Wakeley Road.
