Council approves $61K mid-year budget transfer, schedules FY27 hearings

CT NEWINGTON — The Newington Town Council approved a $61,078 mid-year transfer from the contingency fund to six town departments, with the largest portions to the Town Clerk ($15,200) and Town Manager ($6,288). The council scheduled public hearings on the proposed 2026-2027 budget for March 10 and April 7, with final adoption required within 20 days of the second hearing. The council accepted resignations of Jonathan Galligan from the Economic Development Commission and Jerilyn Nagel from the Central Connecticut Health District, and appointed Kelli Baker, Todd Andrews, Jennifer Morgenthau, Robert Maulucci Jr., and Eileen Francolino to various municipal boards and committees.
