Town Pools Project Building Committee · Meeting of March 23, 2026

CT NEWINGTON — The Town Pools Project Building Committee approved revisions to its request for proposals for conceptual design of swimming pool repairs. Vice Chair Tim Manke presided over a meeting attended by members Bernadette Conway, Eileen Francolino, James Perrotti, and Nancy Cappello, with Town Manager Jonathan Altshul presenting updated RFP language that now includes splash pads, wading pools, emphasis on ADA compliance, and requests for project schedules and granular cost estimates. Public commenters raised concerns about budget sufficiency and bonding capacity for renovating both pools.

Committee member Carol Anne Anest has resigned; her seat will be filled by a Republican Parks and Recreation Board member if interested.
