CT NEWINGTON — Newington's Open Space Committee reviewed a new ArcGIS StoryMap tool and discussed a comprehensive town parcel inventory. Planning Technician Charlie Nevers, who will now assist the committee, presented the interactive map designed by Monique Michaud of the Newington IT Department, featuring drone imagery and descriptions of public parks and trails. The committee discussed adding rentable fields, amenities, wildlife photographs, and coverage of the dog park and CT Fastrak Multi-Use Trail.
The committee will analyze town-owned and undeveloped parcels to determine open space classification criteria and identify expansion opportunities, with a planned working session to review GIS data.
