Town Plan & Zoning Commission · Meeting of June 17, 2026

CT NEWINGTON — Newington advanced state-mandated middle housing zoning amendments, voting unanimously to continue hearing to June 24. Town Planner Paul Dickson presented Petition TPZ-26-10, which would permit transit community middle housing and mixed-use residential developments containing two to nine units in commercial and business zones, subject to new design and parking standards. The amendments were found consistent with state law by the town attorney, and the Capital Region Council of Governments identified no regional conflicts.

Developers and residents offered comments on implementation challenges, architectural design, and regulatory feasibility.
