CT NEWINGTON — Newington Commission continued hearing on 41-unit affordable housing complex, delaying decision to February 11. The 7-0 vote came after the applicant, Premier Real Estate Services II, LLC, committed to addressing fire-access improvements, snow-storage plans, landscaping enhancements, and pedestrian-safety modifications recommended by the Fire Chief and staff. The development would reserve 13 units as affordable housing for households earning 60 to 80 percent of area median income, with rents from $1,500 to $1,800 for two-bedroom units.
The application is governed by Connecticut Section 8-30g, which restricts Commission authority to deny based on substantial public health or safety concerns that plan modifications cannot address.
