CT NEWINGTON — Newington zoning commission approved two special permits and issued a favorable referral for firehouse reconstruction. The Town Plan and Zoning Commission unanimously approved an indoor children's gymnastics facility (Kid's Strong) at 1581 Southeast Road with 28 excess parking spaces in the Business Zone, and a special permit for Sloppy Waffle to add mimosa and sangria options to its brunch menu at 2551 Berlin Turnpike. The board unanimously issued a favorable referral for complete demolition and two-story reconstruction of Firehouse 4 at 84 Fifth Street under Connecticut General Statutes Section 8-24.
